Critique littéraire, écrivain, dandy et caricaturiste, Sir Henry Maximilian Beerbohm est né à Londres le 24 août 1872 et décédé le 20 mai 1956 à Rapallo en Italie. Il était le demi-frère cadet de l’acteur et producteur Herbert Beerbohm Tree et l’oncle d’Iris Tree. Il fit ses études à la Charterhouse School et au Merton College, à Oxford.
